The French Manicure
Leeza

I’d never heard of a French Manicure until my daughter introduced me to this guilty pleasure.  She said my nails needed work and took me to a salon near our home to be pampered.  Not being used to having someone do my nails, it was a relaxing but strange experience for the first time.

Because my daughter had told me about the French Manicure and what it would look like when it was finished, I knew what to expect.  The nail artist or manicurist soaked my fingers in a warm solution of water and something soothing. Then she pushed back my cuticles with a little stick and then back into the soaking solution while she finished my other hand. When she was done with my second hand, she wiped off the water and then applied some lotion and then let that soak in for a little bit.

I was thinking to myself, “I could get used to this!”

She’d already asked me what polish I wanted on my nails before we began, and I’d told her that I wanted a French Manicure.  She buffed my nails and shaped them, then applied a clear base coat.  After she’d applied a very light pink coat and allowed that to dry, she brushed on the white polish that is the signature look of the French Manicure.  Ooooh, I loved it.  I couldn’t stop waving my fingers around just to see how beautiful they were.  I’m definitely doing that again soon!
