Manicure pens are like a felt tip pen, but used for fingernails and toenails. The pens are sometimes used specifically to give the impression you have a French Tip manicure. This is a very ingenious concept, actually, as is anything fast and easy that is used to replace a long, tedious process.
What are French Tip manicure pens? They easily create an illusion of the very natural looking French Tip manicure. A French Tip manicure is one in which the nails appear to be only polished with a clear coat; however, the tips are white, and hence cleaner looking. With a true French Tip manicure, this also involves adding a natural pink color to the rest of the nail, and then finishing, by polishing the whole nail with a clear coat.
A French Tip manicure is very wholesome looking, especially compared to some of the horrendous claws that some women think are so attractive. Thank heaven there are not yet manicure pens that can do those easily. I am referring to artificial nail tips that are more than 1/2-inch long. These are typically fire engine or blood red. Some even have little jewels, figures or designs on them.
That these claw style manicures look wicked is one problem; and how anyone functions with them is a mystery to me. Many women are able to type, button their clothes, use telephones, etc., with these extreme nails. It is an amazing thing to see. The poor dears spend hours in the nail salon and survive hideous chemicals and painful filing to remove the nails and replace them on a regular, expensive basis.
It gives one a good feeling to have well-groomed, feminine nails. If specialty pens can make this task easier to achieve and maintain, then they are a great invention whose time has come. Fast food, instant gratification and an instant manicure for under $10!
I actually saw an ad for a 'mobile manicure' that was referring to manicure pens. Great, another thing to do while driving your car - after all the cell phone only takes one hand.
The old style nail pens used to only include a nail cleaner, nail file, and a cuticle shaper. These are very nice to have as well, for both manicure and pedicure for women or men.
